it could have been 42 weeks and 1 day, depending on how you calculate the date. One thing is for sure, everyone involved was eagerly anticipating the arrival of this baby.
I have never delivered a baby under 8lbs 6oz, so I have no experience mothering a baby any smaller. With that in mind, let me tell you a little bit about my experience with one of my sweet, round, big babies.
He was a little extra long in the womb (this allows for the extra weight that makes him so cuddly). When he moved inside momma's tummy, she really knew it. He won't be wearing the newborn sized hat that mamma lovingly selected and purchased, and we will be passing on the nearly full sized bag of newborn diapers that just don't really fit.
He loves to nursey and suckle. He loves to snuggle and sleep too. His older brothers and sisters are in love, and so is pretty much everyone else. He is Daddy's Man and Mamma's Little Sweety. We will relish every second with our precious gift from God. The God from whom all blessings flow.
Born less than 24 hours ago, our son contentedly snoozes in my exhausted and grateful arms. Delivered by the hand of God (I can assure you it was not by my strength) on October 25, 2010 at 11:42 pm. Our newborn son weighed 10lbs 10.5oz and measured 21.5 inches in length. He is beautiful and big and round and squishy. We are loving and kissing and delighting in every ounce of our little son, and praising God that every baby he makes is amazing.
Praying that you know this Lord, and that his praises are on your lips too. Hope to introduce you to our little blessing soon! Now, we will start working on a name... :)
